Stephen Amell, everyone’s favorite butt-kicker, is set to play Casey Jones, everyone’s other favorite butt-kicker, in the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

During the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, Stephen Amell talked a little about his anticipated role, and what we can all expect from his take on the iconic character. Because we all know him from the highly-acclaimed comic book show, Arrow, in which he plays main protagonist Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, he of course had to clarify how different the two characters (Oliver and Casey) are:

“Gone is the bow and arrow. Incoming is the hockey stick. Without getting too spoilery or even a little spoilery, I will say that you can consider this movie, the movie in and of itself is not this, but for my character, it’s a little bit of an origin story. So when we meet Casey Jones, he is not necessarily the butt-kicking, vigilante shadow-of-the-night that he may eventually become. As a result, the fighting style for me is much different. It’s much more take many more risks. It’s much less calculated. It’s just beating guys up with a hockey stick.”

Amell’s character in Arrow is much more meticulous when it comes to fighting. He researches his opponents, and analyzes their fighting styles to match them and beat them. Casey Jones’ fighting style is exactly how Stephen Amell described it, beating guys up with a hockey stick. That’s not to say Jones’ isn’t an exceptional fighter, he’s just incredibly sloppy compared to Arrow. Nevertheless, Amell is going to be an awesome addition to the TMNT cast, and a great Casey Jones!

You can see Stephen Amell in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, scheduled for a June 3, 2016 release.
